Homeless, runaway youth seeking solace in HQ drop-in center
July 5, 2014
More than 300 homeless youth and runaways have spent time at HQ, a drop-in center that opened in December promising a safe place for teens and young adults.
The center, the first in the area, serves a vulnerable population between the ages of 14 and 22. Every day, 25 to 40 youth without a stable home environment are coming through the doors of 320 State St. SE, located between downtown and the Heritage Hill neighborhood.
